What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide usage information. We also use browser local storage for similar purposes.
Essential cookies
These cookies are necessary for OurVows to function. They cannot be disabled.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
session | Keeps you signed in to your OurVows account | Session / up to 30 days |
site-auth-* | Remembers that you have been granted access to a password-protected wedding site (e.g. via QR code or invite link) | 30 days |
dedup-* | Prevents duplicate RSVP or form submissions | Session |
Analytics
With your consent, we load Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first, cookieless analytics service. It does not set any cookies, does not track you across websites, and does not collect personal data. It helps us understand which pages are visited so we can improve the service.
Analytics is only loaded after you grant consent via the analytics banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of any page.
Cloudflare Turnstile
We use Cloudflare Turnstile on our sign-in, sign-up, and
password-protected site entry pages. Turnstile is a CAPTCHA alternative that
verifies you are a real person without presenting a visual puzzle. It may set
a short-lived cookie (cf_clearance) as part of its verification
process. This is classified as a strictly necessary cookie because it protects
against automated abuse.
Local storage
We use your browser's local storage (not cookies) for:
- Analytics consent preference — remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics
- Photo book drafts — temporarily stores photo selections while you compose a photo book contribution, so your progress is not lost if you navigate away
Local storage data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers automatically.
Third-party cookies
We do not use any advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or third-party marketing cookies. The only third-party services that may set cookies are Cloudflare (for security) and Stripe (if you make a payment).
How to manage your preferences
You can change your analytics consent at any time by clicking the link in the footer of any page. This will re-display the consent banner so you can update your choice.
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Please note that blocking essential cookies may prevent you from using OurVows.
